The New Journey Begins

This Sunday a new journey begins for our family. The past three years we have committed ourselves to The Freedom Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Senior Pastor Bud Plake. Pastor Bud has been a great inspiration and one of our biggest supporters to see God fulfill what He wants to do in our lives. We have enjoyed serving under him. This new journey does not take us far away as we will continue to work with Pastor Bud but in a different role. We will begin this Sunday working with the Dream Team in Springfield, Louisiana, at The Freedom Church where we will be serving in the role of Campus Pastors with whom I believe to be one of the greatest ministers of all time, Pastor T (Terry Lobell). This has been a dream of ours for a long time and we are excited about the oppurtunity to serve The Freedom Church. “If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matthew 17:20 (NLT). In this passage is a great promise! But what if we magnified it? If one believer can move a mountain, can two shake it into rubble? If so, what could three Christians do? Four? Five? What if every believer proclaimed from their rooftops, “I love God with all my heart! He took my death and gave me life!”? It would be nothing short of a world-wide revival! If you can move a mountain with even small faith, imagine what we can do together for God and His kingdom!

Give Hope

Tonight my thoughts are on the disciples. They have just seen Christ, their Friend and Lord, die a horrible death. They look on the cross and hear Christ say the words “Forgive them for they not what they do.” He dies, and they go back to their homes. What are they thinking? Maybe Peter is thinking with guilt, “Why did I deny Him?” The others, “I could have done more. Maybe I could have stopped this.” The disciples lived with Him, and they did not even understand what was going on. The disciples took their guilt and shame and attempted to deal with it, some better than others. One took his life into his own hands and committed suicide.

We are filled with those same thoughts at times. Guilt of our lives and choices, shame of the past, and what haunts us late at night. How do you deal with that? We have an advantage that the disciples did not. There might have been Friday night sadness full of guilt and shame, but they did not understand what we know today: That while they were having all of those feelings and thoughts, Christ was fighting the ultimate battle and taking away the keys to death, hell, and the grave, and was rising again that we might have hope and life.

Today Christ is risen but instead of holding onto that hope, let’s share it with someone who needs to understand God can set them free and bring them Life and bring it more abundantly.

This weekend, as we celebrate Christ’s death and Resurrection, find someone who you can share the same hope you have.
